Common Situations

Seeing This On Your Site?

If you manage a commercial property or HOA, you've likely dealt with one of these.

The Situation

Your municipality requires a post-construction stormwater inspection and you're not sure what that involves or who qualifies to conduct it.

The Solution

We perform the inspection and deliver a report formatted to your municipality's requirements. Reports are prepared to meet reviewer expectations and support approval.

The Situation

Your pond, rain garden, or detention basin hasn't been assessed in years and you don't know its condition.

The Solution

We assess each SCM, document deficiencies, and identify required maintenance. You receive clear priorities and cost expectations.

The Situation

You received a notice of violation or a failed inspection report and need a licensed engineer to respond to your municipality.

The Solution

We provide the engineering assessment and documentation required for response. We can coordinate with repair vendors through resolution if needed.

The Situation

You need to budget for stormwater repairs but have no visibility into what's coming or when.

The Solution

We deliver a device-by-device budget forecast so you can plan capital reserves before a violation forces the issue.

Our Founder

One Who Listens Well to the Water.

"Stormwater inspections work when you understand how systems perform, where issues develop, and what stormwater programs expect."

With more than 20 years of experience as a Professional Engineer, including roles as a design engineer, project manager, and over a decade focused on stormwater inspections, I understand how systems are designed, how they perform in the field, and where issues typically develop.

Before founding Nupona, I served as an Air Force civil engineering officer and later as a design engineer, project manager, and Director of Public Works. I have worked directly with stormwater programs across NC and SC and understand their requirements, processes, and review expectations.

WHAT NUPONA MEANS
Nupona is derived from the Algonquian language family of my Lumbee heritage. Nupuy means water and Menatona means one who listens well. Combined, they form Nupona, meaning one who listens well to the water, reflecting a practical approach to understanding and managing stormwater systems.
